Where the data comes from
City names, coordinates, populations and time zones come from GeoNames, licensed CC BY 4.0.
Sun and moon positions, phases and eclipses come from astronomy-engine, MIT licence. Equinoxes and solstices are our own implementation of the algorithms in Jean Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms, chapter 27.
Times are verified against the US Naval Observatory.
Accuracy
The times here are computed for an observer at sea level with a flat horizon, and are accurate to about a minute for that case. They are not suitable for navigation, for aviation, or for any purpose where being a minute out matters.
